Conservative dentistry is a department of dentistry that primarily deals with prophylaxis and actions to maintain the patient’s natural dentition. A part of conservative procedures is the treatment of dental caries, which is the result of the impact of cariogenic bacteria. The treatment involves the filling of cavities caused by caries. Light-cured materials are the most frequently used in filling the defects. Their task is to restore the dental tissues.

The conservative dentistry procedures are most often carried out in dental practices because caries and tooth damage are problems affecting a large part of society. In our office, we also offer patients an alternative method of tooth reconstruction. Technological progress in the field of dentistry makes it possible to abandon the so-called “seals” in favour of a modern filling made to measure, perfectly matched to the tooth with its anatomical shape and colour. We’re talking about inlay, onlay and overlayreconstructions. This type of reconstruction is more durable, highly aesthetic, and more effective in joint stabilization. It is estimated that the application of this type of filling increases the strength of chewing force by about 50-75%.

The treatment of caries is usually carried out under local anaesthesia.

The treatment of dental caries consists in cleaning the cavity from the cariogenic bacteria and rebuilding the damaged part of the tooth by means of a filling. If you want to gain detailed knowledge about the prevention and treatment of caries, we offer consultation that will reveal the secrets of prevention and will familiarize you with the details of services provided in our office.

X-ray (small)

It happens that in order to find out the cause of a toothache, the dentist has to take an X-ray. Thanks to it, the dentist can detect, inter alia, the previously unnoticeable caries in the tangent areas, root problems or various types of tooth developmental defects. This solution significantly shortens the time of diagnosis and treatment process, because it gives the dentist deeper knowledge about the patient’s health status. X-ray images in the Dentysta dental practice are carried out with the utmost care for the benefit and comfort of the patient.

Multi-layer fillings – comprehensive tooth restoration

Although not everyone is aware of it, the tooth has up to five surfaces that can be affected by caries. These are the palatal, occlusal, mesial, distal and buccal surfaces of maxillary teeth and incisal, lingual, labial, mesial and distal surfaces of mandibular teeth. Therefore, the level of complexity of the cavity filling procedure depends on the advancement of caries. In Dentysta, we inform the patient how many tooth layers have been infected by caries and we offer multilayer fillings, the cost of which depends on the number of layers that require reconstruction.

Inlays, onlays and overlays – a modern alternative for seals

A tooth damaged due to caries or root canal treatment requires treatment that will restore not only its aesthetics, but also functionality. Thanks to the advances in technology, the patient does not have to rely only on traditional methods of tooth restoration. The inlays, onlays and overlays that we use in our dental practice are a modern alternative to seals and crowns.

  • Inlay – restoration does not involve any dental cusp,
  • onlay – restoration covers part of the dental cusps,
  • overlay – restoration covers the entire upper layer of the tooth.

Fillings of this type are made of porcelain, gold alloys, composite materials or complex compositions, e.g. gold and ceramics. They are characterized by durability, aesthetics and resistance to abrasion. The treated tooth retains its natural appearance and successfully fulfils its functions thanks to its precise reconstruction.

The conservative dental treatments known as scaling and sandblasting are two proven methods of cleaning teeth of calculus resulting from the mineralization of dental plaque. The accumulation of calculus can lead to serious health consequences, including periodontitis.

Scaling consists in removing dental and subgingival calculus using ultrasound. This is a very important procedure because residual calculus causes gum damage and inflammation of the bones. Scaling prevents many diseases, and at the same time has a healing effect.

Sandblasting consists in removing discolorations, deposits and particles of calculus, which is the effect of drinking coffee, tea and dark beverages or smoking tobacco. This treatment is carried out using a sandblaster and powder. Sandblasting is safe and painless.

The combination of both treatments is the most efficient and the fastest.

It does not matter if you want to treat caries, prevent it or regenerate teeth damaged by caries.

Dentysta offers a wide spectrum of services which will restore the previous look and function of your teeth!
